The sources upon which this research is based are not limited to just the traditional items of ancient pottery, above all those of the Moche civilization, which certainly provide a veritable trove of evidence. To enrich currently existing knowledge, the autor has also analyzed other archaeological remains which deal with the sujetc and which had to be identified first. This is the case of the phallic Recuay statues or the similarly-shaped Sillustani burial towers.
